Speaker, Osun State House Of Assembly Right Hon Timothy Owoeye launches free interest loan facility for women, artisans, others in Ilesa East LGA, Ilesa North-East LCDA.,


It was frenzy and carnival-like atmosphere at the ward meeting of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) Secretariat, in Ilesa East Council Area of Osun as the Speaker Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Timothy Owoeye attended the meeting.

Addressing the crowd, the Speaker appreciated the leadership of APC, members in the council area, and the teeming women who voted for him in the last election.

He described the outcome of the 2019 house of assembly election in the council area as the best in the anal of history of elections in the area, assuring that he would not disappoint them.

Hon Owoeye also disclosed that in fulfilling his electioneering campaign, a free interest loan will be unveiled for the  benefit of market men and women, traders and artisans in the area.









According to him,  a commercial bank will facilitate the  loan while he will settle the interest on it.

'Each time i see women being embarrassed for their inability to pay loans taken from the micro credit loan facilitator popularly known as 'gbomule lanter,  my heart bleeds, and i usually thinks on how to ease the challenges', said Hon Owoeye.

He urged those that will benefit from the loan to ensure its prompt payment, to enable others benefit.

Explaining how the loan facilities will be handled,  the coordinator of the scheme, Dr Oni Gbolade, said the scheme was geared towards   expanding and sustaining the existing businesses of the people in the council area and the LCDA.

He lauded Hon Owoeye for facilitating the scheme, just as he said those who will benefit from the scheme will be scrutinized,  and  properly documented by the bank, to ensure smooth running of the scheme, and timely payment of loan, to encourage the facilitator -Hon Owoeye.

Those who spoke with newsmen at the event commended Speaker Osun, Hon Owoeye for the scheme, describing the gesture as first of its kind in Ijesaland.
