Residents of Oke Opo in Ilesa East Council Area of Osun have commended the efforts of the council Chairman, Otunba Adesoji Olowopejobori towards resuscitating a moribund MDGs health facility in the community.
Speaking at the unveiling of the health care center that was left unused since 2013,and later vandalised by suspected vandals, Chairman Oke Opo community, Alhaji Raheem Ikotun eulogised the authority of Ilesa East council area for renovating and equipping the health centre, saying the people of the area will now have access to free medical care.
He urged the Council authority to put in place other facilities, saying security of the place is also important.
In his speech, the council boss Otunba Olowopejobori said the gesture was in fulfilment of his electioneering campaign, and also inline with the policy of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun.

He said the health center had been equipped with drugs, vaccines, bedsheets, mattresses, refrigerator, health care kits and a host of others, to make it function effectively, and thereby reduce pressure on Wesley Guild hospital.
While commissioning the facility, Governor Gboyega Oyetola reiterated his administration's resolve to give priority to the welfare of the masses, security, food production as well as an improved health care delivery to all among others.
The governor, represented by former Commissioner for environment, Hon Idowu Korede, urged the Oke Opo community to make good use of the health care center.
The MDGs health centre, Oke Opo ward 11, Ilesa East Council Area was put in place in 2013 while the council paid its counterpart funds towards the project ,but left unused for many years until the present leadership of Ilesa East Council Area renovated and equipped it with drugs and other health facilities to serve the people.
