BABALOLA FROWNS AT POOR PUBLICITY OF OSUN GOVERNMENT ACTIVITIES

The Coordinating Director Local Government Service Commission State of Osun, Barr Lekan Babalola has frowned at the inadequate publicity of government activities in the State.

Barrister Babalola disclosed this in his office while playing host to the campaign team of Comrade Bukola Elufadejin who is contesting for the post of the scribe of of the state council  of Nigeria Union Of Journalists  Nuj.

He expressed displeasure at the inadequate coverage given to some local government staff recently pardoned by Governor Gboyega Oyetola that pursued higher qualification without notifying the government adequately.

The coordinating director local government service commission stressed that such lackadaisical altitude  to pursue their personal program and other related offences led to their demotions according to the civil service rules.

 He described Governor Oyetola as a loving father, a passionate, God fearing, and a listening leader who is ready to do anything possible within his reach to make people happy.

Barr Babalola described some achievements of the government within a year of his administration as unpresidented .

He further implored  journalists to be fair in their reportage of government activities to the society at large.

Responding, chairman Elufadejin campaign committee who is also the chairman of the local government information Chapel of Osun NUJ, Comrade Adegboyega Omolojuolodumare said journalists in the state are trying their best in projecting the government activities,stressing that though  it may not be enough due to inadequate training and retraining of the grass root journalists, lack of adequate equipments and other relevant tools.

Comrade Omolojuolodumare intimated the coordinating director about the efforts so far made by the NUJ Local Government Information Chapel in terms of training and retraining of members in which approvals has been secured from all privately owned Media houses in the state including  federal government Media houses to partner with the local government service commission to train  information officers in batches( 3 months in radio, three months in television arm) with no financial implications on the part of the government.

He  stressed that this  will give each information officers adequate knowledge about the house style of  media house in the state and to ensure accurate and prompt reportage of the government activities right from the grass root to the entire world.

In his responce the coordinating director Barr Lekan Babalola who expressed Joy commended  leadership of the chapel on the steps taken so far and promised the readiness of the commission to implement the idea immediately .



He further said " The commission will be ever ready to implement anything that will promote the activities of the present government to the whole world, this he maintained will be the priority of the local government service commission under the chairmanship of Elder Tunde Adedeji"

He said, the present Local Government service commission chairman is a man of excellent who will always support any action(s) that can lead to excellent projections of activities of the present administration across the length and breath of the state and beyond.

On the campaign train include comrades Toyin Olaniyi, Adereti Gbemisola, Kemi Olayiwola, Adegbongbe Adeoye and many others.
