Nigeria@60: Hon Famurewa says Nigeria is indivisible, has reasons to celebrate.....

A prominent politician in the state of Osun, Honourable Israel Ajibola Famurewa, has called on those clamoring for the division of the country to wake up from their slumber and face the reality.

The former federal lawmaker in a statement he personally signed on the occasion of the 60th independent anniversary of the country said Nigeria will always remain an entity.

The Osun State SUBEB Executive Chairman said Nigeria and Nigerians have a lot to be grateful for since it got independence.

He listed the things Nigeria and Nigerians can point to as achievements to include: democracy, smooth transition of government and cooperation from all arms of government.

Honourable Famurewa said some West African countries cannot boast of the relative peace being enjoyed in Nigeria, as some African countries have authoritarians as President or ruler who do not relinquish power and are either ousted by the military or revolution.

He urged all to work for the progress of the country and stop the divisive tendencies they are exhibiting as no region can successfully stand on its own without the support of others in the country.

The two-time House of Representatives member however said some of the problems being experienced in the country like insecurity in some parts of the North, unstable economy among few others is not peculiar to the nation and it will be a thing of the part in due course.
