BFK Sues For Peace In Local Govt Councils, Tasks Chairmen, Councillors To Complement Oyetola's Efforts in making Osun great

Chairman of the Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Council Affairs, Honourable Babatunde Festus Komolafe popularly known as 'BFK' has appealed to political functionaries at the grassroots level of government in the state to live in peace with the various publics of their constituencies.

Komolafe in an usual informal meeting with some of his constituents in Ifewara, the headquarters of Atakumosa-West Local Government Council Area of Osun State yesterday, said that it's only when there is peace across the local government councils that the officiating political functionaries can have time to think of developmental projects for their people.

"By so doing, they will be adding value to the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola which is striving with all available resources and arsenals to continue the culture of good government inherited from the immediate-past administration of ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola now Interior Minister", the lawmaker said.

He enjoined the council political functionaries to sink their differences and desist from working at cross-purposes in the overall interest of the people whose interest you swore to protect jealously.

Komolafe reminded the grassroots political functionaries to learn how to use the opportunities given to them by their constituents meaningfully at this time in the political history of the state, telling them that the opportunities they are currently enjoying is a passing phase.

The high-ranking member of the House of Assembly equally reminded the council chairmen, councillors and all other political office holders across the state that history would not be fair to them if they fail to make a desirable landmark during their tenures as this might be a one-off opportunity for some of them to test their genuine intention to serve their people.

BFK also prevailed on the council chairmen to act and administer their various councils in tandem with the provision of the parliamentary system of government being in operation at the local government council level across the state.

According to the State House of Assembly Committee chairman on Local Government Affairs, "immediately the chairmen see themselves as first among equals in the midst of other councillors, permanent and unconditional peace, unity and harmony will return back to where such have taken flight from.

"My observation has shown that it's because some council chairmen are misconstrueing their positions as that of Executive Chairmen that has been attracting unrest in some of the local government councils.

"It's important for the council chairmen to be open-handed and carry along other political stakeholders of their councils in their day-to-day running of the councils", he advised.

BFK also reminded the councillors that they were not sent to the councils to turn the same to theatres of war or where such can be used to take a pound of flesh either from real or perceived enemies, warning them that "whoever is instrumental to the removal of any chairman for any unjust reason is having the same monstrous political punishment awaiting him in future. This is a simple law of Karma".

Komolafe stated that it was the belief of his committee that any local government council area that is crisis-ridden is apparently not on the same page with the performing and peace-loving administration of Governor Oyetola.
