Hon Segun Olanibi
As Christians mark this year's Easter Celebration in low key, occasioned by the outbreak of deadly coronavirus, the Comissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs ,Segun Olanibi, has urged residents of Osun not to give up on the present global health challenge.
Olanibi said this in his Easter message to Christians in the state of Osun.
“Easter is a time Christians celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ who offered Himself as a sacrifice for the remission of the sins of the world, he said.
Hon Olanibi urged the people to cooperate with government in the fight against the spread of COVID-19, adding that the principle of social distancing, personal hygiene, and total compliance to government's directive, and prayers will end COVID-19 pandemic sooner than expected.
The Comissioner, sympathised with those that have lost their loved ones to Covid-19 across the globe, warning that the devastating effect of Covid-19 in Italy, Spain, UK, US , China, and Equador amongst others must be prevented in Africa, and Nigeria in particular.
Prince Olanibi urged the people of Osun to show commitment to the well-being of one another and take responsibility to keep the state safe from the spread of COVID-19.
He therefore prayed for divine intervention for normalcy to return.
