Amidst the fight against COVID-19 across the globe, the lawmaker representing Ilesa West State Constituency at the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Wale Adedoyin has embarked on distribution of food and other relief items.
Speaking to newsmen in Ilesa, Hon Adedoyin said it is not in his practice to make public his philanthropic gestures, adding that the food items are part of his personal effort to cushion the effect of the stay at home directive of the State government.
According to the lawmaker, the lingering pandemic has prompted him to provide the necessary items for his constituents.
“ Quite a number of my people have been going through harrowing situation since the commencement of the luckdown, as many families are now finding difficult to feed, hence the need for the relief items'', he said.
He said the items could not go round all the houses across his constituency ,but have indeed reached a larger part of his constituency.
Hon Adedoyin, popularly known as 'Eyi Yato' also called on well meaning individuals, comunity leaders, cooperate organizations as well as NGOs to give necessary support, and provide basic needs for people.
He appealed to people of Ilesa West State Constituency to adhere strictly to the directive of government, with a view to curb the spread of the pandemic.
Hon Adedoyin also appealed to security personnel to be civil in the discharge of their duties, just as he commended the state government for its proactive step in curbing the spread of coronavirus.
The Lawmaker said complying with stay at home directive, maintaining the social distancing , practicing a high level personal hygiene, and avoiding hand shake among other preventive measures suggested by WHO would safe the state , Nigeria and Africa from COVID-19 pandemic.
While appreciating the gesture, one of the beneficiaries, Mr Akinade lauded the initiative, just as he charged others to emulate the kind gesture.
