Inline with the directive of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun on the need to prevent the spread of coronavirus into the state, chairman Ilesa North East LCDA , Hon Oladiopo Adeniyi, and his counterpart from Ilesa East, Hon Akeem Olowopejobori have urged the residents of the areas not to panic.
The government of Osun had yesterday issued a directive warning against gathering of more than 50 people, as well as the closing down of schools in the state ,as part of proactive measures to keep the state safe from the dreadful coronavirus.
Hon Olaniyi and Olowopejobori in a separate interviews warned people not to act contrary to the governor Oyetola's directive, saying it is done in the interest of the entire people of Osun.
The council bosses called on the people to take note of all the safety measures according to Word Health Organization (WHO) that includes, regular washing of hands with soap, avoid hand shaking , avoid sick people, blowing of nose, coughing or sneezing among others.
Hon Olowopejobori and Adeniyi said, health officials at the council level are working with those at the state level, to ensure that no one is infected in the state, just as they urged community heads and religious leaders to comply with the government directive.
COVID-19 has continued to rare its ugly head across the globe while the federal government, and Osun state government among others have taken several proactive measures to keep Nigerians safe from the epidemic.
