ODOOYE IN THE HISTORY OF IJERO KINGDOM

Odooye is a separate town in the olden days and has its Head as the Olodooye of Odooye.

Olodooye came together with his people from Ile Ife to the present site of Odooye in Ijero Ekiti.

The females of Odooye are called Aye while the males are called Obasa.

History has it that, the Olodooye have been in Odooye in Ijero Ekiti before Ajero came to the present site of Ijero and not only Olodooye that have been in the present site of Ijero before Ajero Ogbe came.

Others are Olouku, Alapa, Ejewi etc Olouku is the Head of them all before Ajero came and others are been referred to has Ioro Ouku.

Alapa disattach himself from Ioro Ouku because of the fight between him and Olodooye.

Among all Ioro Ouku, it is only Olodooye that uses iron priest stick, because everything he uses is iron/silver.

Olodooye has a silver crown that led to the saying ''Omo Alade Ude''.

When Ajero Ogbe came to Ijero, he met all these people and they had a mutual thought agreed that Ajero should be their overall leader and King because he is a direct son of Oduduwa.

It is this meeting that they had together and had a mutual thought ''Ajoro'' led to the saying Ajoro ni je Ijero or Ajoro na i pe ni Ijero.
