It was a celebration galore among the people living with disabilities in various schools for students with special needs in Osun on Tuesday the 3rd of December 2019 as Governor Gboyega Oyetola commissioned a 4-in-1 Project in the agency of Community and Social Development Program (CSDP) under the Ministry of Rural Development and Community Affairs that has beeb adequately managed by its Commissioner Hon Segun Olanibi.
The projects included Braille Centre, Tricycles for the people with disabilities, the ultramodern Girls Hostel for the secondary school students and perimeter fencing of children with special needs.
According to Governor Oyetola, the projects are designed to mark
"2019 World Disability Day."
Addressing the gathering, the Governor, said that the four laudable projects commissioned will enhance the less privileged to learn in a conducive atmosphere,especially the braille centre which will enabled the Special students, to have access to basic teaching and learning facilities that includes text books which the facility can also convert to audio format for the blind students to learn.
According to the governor, the tricycles commissioned will take care the plight of those without legs to ease their movement, and also earn a living if they are so wish to work at the facility after school hours.
Governor Oyetola also said the girls hostels are built and designed to protect and make life more meaningful for female students.
While eulogising the efforts of Governor Oyetola towards making life bearable for people with disabilities, the commissioner for rural development and community affairs, Hon Segun Olanibi applauded the Governor for what he described as his unflinching support for the people with special needs despite the paucity of funds in the state.
The commissioner charged people of Osun to continue supporting the administration of Governor Oyetola, saying the present administration is passionate about the welfare , safety and comfort of its teeming population.
The unveiling of the projects attracted people from all walks of life, who lauded Governor Oyetola for the landmark achievement recorded since he assumed office in the past one year .
