Agents of disunity struggling in vain in Ilesa West APC says Eyiyato

Hon Wale Adedoyin, a former member Osun house of Assembly, has described the allegation of promoting contents and self serving ideology ,aimed at smuggling former Osun Governor , Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola back to the party through the backdoor  as senseless, and baseless.

The former lawmaker, was said to have on Sunday erected a banner with an inscription tagged “Our Unity is Our Strength” at the Ilesa West APC Secretariat, where he projected the photographs of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, President Bola Tinubu, and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.

Reacting in a statement, Hon Adedoyin, said those who have been fanning the embers of discord and disunity in the APC in Ilesa West, are indeed meant no well for the party at large, describing the sponsor of what he called, a ridiculous and senseless write up,  recently surfaced on the social media platforms as an ingrate.

Adedoyin, who, described Aregbesola as his brother, mentor, and benefactor, under whom he served as a commissioner, along side the immediate past governor , Gboyega Oyetola , who served as the Chief of Staff, said he also enjoyed a smooth working experience under Governor Adegboyega as a lawmaker , representing Ilesa West Constituency.

Adedoyin, popularly known as Eyiyato, who said he remained committed to the party, added that both Aregbesola, and Oyeyola are his leaders, just as he said the Unity of APC is its strength towards wrestling power from PDP in 2026 in the state.

Odo-ijesa: Youth Group Hail Judgement nullifying the appointment of Prince Olayinka

A group, known as Odo-Ijesa Youth Solidarity Front (OIYSF) on Tuesday has expressed happiness at the ruling of an Osun High Court, restraining Prince Olufemi Olayinka, from parading himself as the new Oluodo of Odo Ijesa.

An Osun State High Court sitting in Ode-Omu, on Monday, restrained the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the state Attorney-General, Oluwole Jimi-Bada, or their agents, from appointing Prince Olufemi Olayinka as the new Olu-Odo of Odo-Ijesa.

The court also ordered Olayinka to vacate the stool of the Olu-Odo of Odo-Ijesa, and stop parading himself as Oba, pending the determination of the suit before it.

Reacting on the ruling, the group wondered what the society is fast becoming, where an individual, in connivance with other disgruntled elements, want to force their questionable interests on the larger majority, in a flagrant manner, against norms, tradition, and all established and known principles of civility.

The group in a statement by its president , Mr Alade Ashaolu, and Secretary, Miss Adeyemi Adunni, expressed disappointment at the way some forces, are playing dirty politicking with the future of the entire Odo-Ijesa community.

While urging the Governor of Osun, the people’s governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke not to allow himself to be dragged into Obaship tussle in Odo-Ijesa, but rather to respect the rule of law, the youths , said the selection process that produced Dr Odeyemi was transparent and accepted by majority of Odo sons and daughters, as he got four votes out of the six votes cast by the kingmakers, at an event chaired by the then local government chairman, Hon. Kujembola, who was doing the bidding of the APC administration at the time, as he manipulated the result.

Applauding governor Adeleke as a respecter of the traditional institution, and the rule of law, the group said those creating problems in the community are doing so for their selfish interest, precisely, because of the ongoing gold mining operations in the area, at the detriment of the collective interest of the town.

According to the statements, the brazen act of injustice imposed on a whole community by some elements will not hold, as everything under the law will be done to correct the injustice and abnormality, and ensure the truth prevail.

Court restrains Adeleke from appointing prince as monarch

An Osun State High Court sitting in Ode-Omu, on Monday, restrained the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the state Attorney-General, Oluwole Jimi-Bada, or their agents, from appointing Prince Olufemi Olayinka as the new Olu-Odo of Odo-Ijesa.

The court also ordered Olayinka to vacate the stool of the Olu-Odo of Odo-Ijesa,  pending the determination of the suit before it.

Parties in the matter had appeared before Justice M. Okediya on Monday, as counsel to the plaintiff, Fatima Adesina, who filed an application, asked the court to set aside any letter of appointment or instrument of appointment that would have been given to the defendant.

But counsel to the defendant, Mr. T. Giwa, though told by the court to respond orally to the application, declined, saying he had not been properly briefed on the matter.

A prince of Odo-Ijesa, Hammed Odeyemi had, on January 19, 2021, dragged Olayinka alongside the state governor, the state Attorney-General and the kingmakers to court, over the vacant royal stool.

The plaintiff through his counsel, Adesina, on February 2, 2022, filed an interlocutory injunction, asking the court to order a stay of execution, pending the determination of the substantive suit by the court.

Adesina moved the motion on June 14, 2022.

Ruling on the motion on Monday, Okediya restrained the defendants, particularly the governor, the state Attorney-General and the Atakumosa East Local Government or their agents, from sending the name of Olayinka or accepting his name as the Olu-Odo elect of Odo-Ijesa.
